APPA Code of Conduct

The American Psychedelic Practitioners Association (APPA) has developed a Code of Conduct to ensure professional, ethical, and inclusive behavior amongst APPA members and all activity associated with all APPA and its platforms.

Please report any violations of this conduct to info@thepsychedelicassociation.org

Conflict of Interest Policies

APPA members should disclose any conflicts of interest when sharing educational information or opinions when applicable.

Digital Code of Conduct

By accessing and using this website and all APPS-associated tech platforms, you agree to the following Code of Conduct. If you do not agree to our Code of Conduct, Terms of Use, and Privacy Policy, you must immediately terminate your use of our website and platforms.

APPA is a professional organization whose mission is to support practitioners and beneficiaries in developing and integrating safe, effective and accessible psychedelic medicine services for the advancement of healthcare and collective wellbeing. In order to achieve that mission, the atmosphere at our webinars, in-person meetings, on our technology platforms, and on our social media is welcoming, educational, professional, and equitable. This means that when using our site, platforms, and social media, you must not:

  • Share false and/or defamatory information.

  • Offer medical advice to other users

  • Seek medical advice (please consult your personal care team)

  • Disclose personal health information

  • Post any HIPAA-protected information

  • Post any content with private or personal information, such as phone numbers/email addresses/etc.

  • Post discriminatory, abusive, hateful, harassing, or threatening content

  • Share anything that infringes on copyrights, trademarks, or trade secrets

  • Post in a manner that would constitute spamming (e.g., posting repetitively, posting things not relevant to the topic and/or APPA's mission, any "follow me" type posts)

  • Comment in a ‘trolling’ manner, meaning no comments that appear intended to send the discussion in a fruitless direction, or that are irrelevant to the topic but instead call into question the poster’s or other commenters’ legitimacy, any comments intended to insult or deride the poster or other commenters.

  • Post illegal content or solicit or facilitate illegal or prohibited transactions. The ‘legality’ is judged by the area in which the transaction is taking place. For example, posting about a psilocybin retreat in Jamaica (where it is legal) is allowed. Posting about a psilocybin retreat in a US state where it is not legal is not allowed.

A note of courtesy: Please properly label content that is graphic, sexually-explicit, or may otherwise be triggering. Please keep trauma-informed principles in mind when posting.

While APPA is not obliged to monitor User-Generated Content, we reserve the right to do so.  Therefore, any content in violation of this policy may be blocked or removed at the sole discretion of APPA. Any APPA members violating this Code of Conduct will be subject to disciplinary action, including but not limited to:

  • Asking you to cease the violating behavior

  • Temporary or permanent suspension from APPA

  • Removal of posting/commenting privileges

  • Removal of your posted content

Please do not send messages directly to participants on this social media platform of a commercial nature unless specifically invited to do so by that individual. Unsolicited commercial solicitation will be considered a violation of the Code of Conduct.

APPA does not take responsibility for the opinions or claims of platform users/members and we are not fact-checking posts and comments. All comments and posts represent the views of the poster, and do not necessarily represent the views of APPA. Allowing a post to stay on our platform does not constitute endorsement by APPA.
